STUDIO MRS X NORDIC KNOTS

Introducing a collection of four rugs, three flatweaves and one all-natural jute, each woven with Michelle R. Smith’s signature approach to design, colour and pattern. Inspired by exquisite tailoring, and design that feels both fresh and nostalgic.

A campaign video for the collaboration between Studio MRS and Nordic Knots, displaying the four different rug designs in a rustic, nostalgic house in Bellport, USA.

“CRAFTED WITH INTENTION, THEY SETTLE IN LIKE OLD FRIENDS"

Part of your daily rhythm — like that must-have morning coffee or the chair that always feels just right — this collection embodies a sense of ease, as if it’s been part of your home all along. “I had a clear vision for how I wanted the rugs to feel,” says Michelle. “They’re inspired by patterns and textures from my childhood, yet I wanted them to feel fresh. I hope these rugs — with their small, distinct patterns — serve as a backdrop for new memories in the same way.”

VILLAGE OF BELLPORT

A palette of sludgy greens, warm terracottas, sun-washed pinks — patterns that whisper rather than shout, hues that slip seamlessly into a space, textures that settle into a space, as if it’s always been there.

OLD MONTAUK HIGHWAY, NY

By the shore, the rugs take on a different rhythm. The patterns feel lighter, the colours calmer — warm terracotta against weathered wood, soft pinks catching the last light of day. A quiet refinement, shaped by the horizon.

Here a rug settles into the space like it belongs, textured yet sleek, understated yet full of depth. The waves whisper, the wind shifts, and the room feels like a natural extension of the landscape — timeless, grounding, at ease.
